Alert the CDC! There’s a *Misinformation* Epidemic!

I’ve heard it said that bad news spreads faster than good news, and  I would have said that was just a thing people say to try to curb  the spread of gossip, except I just realized that I do it too.

Just this past week, I (a dyed-in-the-wool iPhone lover) found out about the impending 4G release. Naturally I devoured every article I could find about pricing, release date, and technical specs. And then proceeded to post it on Facebook and tell every third person in passing, “You KNOW, the 4g is coming out.”

This is NOT the iPhone 4...oh wait...yeah it is.

The Most Highly Anticipated…EVAR!!!1

Damn, give the guy 4 years to fix an 8-year-deep mess, maybe?

I’ve noticed that it’s been really easy as of the last 10 or so years to let people down on a grand scale. High expectations are hardly met by those they are placed upon, and yet we continue to raise our collective expectations for great things to God-like proportions. (more…)

Do Technology!

I wonder how come there aren’t more experimental car designs out there on the streets these days. I’ve seen some pretty slick concept art for cars that could actually be on the streets. I’ve also seen actual prototypes out there too.

This is the Uno, a concept motorcycle. Gyroscopes!

It would seem that the actual rate of our technological advances has rocketed out of the range of our everyday utility. We have so many things that we use all the time that we could definitely stand to upgrade at this point in human history. I guess the influx of computers and personal devices with oodles of apps speaks to this a little bit, but the problems of the world cannot be fully solved by apps alone.

I think GPS has helped us make a great deal of progress from the days of holding up maps on the dashboard (which sucked for lone drivers in foreign locations), but things as simple as battery life have yet to catch up to the software explosion of the last 20-some-odd years. (more…)

I Now Have A Terabyte…Help Me Fill It!

So, I went and bought a 1TB external hard drive from BestBuy.com the other day, and I just realized that this gives me an opportunity to ‘watch’ movies that I’ve missed over the years (and trust me, I’ve missed over the years). I need YOUR help: give me some suggestions for movies that I should ‘check out’. (more…)

Stop Advertising to Me! I Hate You!

I’m sick of these websites (especially file sharing sites) playing random audio commercials in places that you can’t find. You get redirected from a music blog to a new mixtape verse from  your favorite artist or whatever, and the next thing you know, you’re listening to the new song with an additional track playing along with it…for the first few seconds, you think it’s an elaborate intro meant to throw you off a little bit, or maybe if you listened properly it’d be some kind of allusion to the theme of the song…but NOOOOOOOOOO! It’s a friggin commercial. For the most asinine thing you can think to want to sell somebody. Totally unrelated to the song whatsoever.

The worst part is that you can’t get to it; there’s no way to find a pause or stop button, there’s nothing you can disable or ‘kill’ as it were. You either have to reload the page and hope that the ad doesn’t play for the second time, or you have to just download the track, or whatever it is you’re downloading (no previews) and get it over with. Boy I tell ya, I hate them options.

Just…just stop with the phantom ads. No more, please. Figure out how to make that not happen anymore, because my guess is that it’s not intentional–I’m giving you guys the benefit of the doubt.
