Incriminating IM’s: Part 1

A convo between myself and SRAustin, hilarity always ensues between us. If you don’t think it’s funny, then you’re wack.

Stop Advertising to Me! I Hate You!

I’m sick of these websites (especially file sharing sites) playing random audio commercials in places that you can’t find. You get redirected from a music blog to a new mixtape verse from  your favorite artist or whatever, and the next thing you know, you’re listening to the new song with an additional track playing along with it…for the first few seconds, you think it’s an elaborate intro meant to throw you off a little bit, or maybe if you listened properly it’d be some kind of allusion to the theme of the song…but NOOOOOOOOOO! It’s a friggin commercial. For the most asinine thing you can think to want to sell somebody. Totally unrelated to the song whatsoever.

The worst part is that you can’t get to it; there’s no way to find a pause or stop button, there’s nothing you can disable or ‘kill’ as it were. You either have to reload the page and hope that the ad doesn’t play for the second time, or you have to just download the track, or whatever it is you’re downloading (no previews) and get it over with. Boy I tell ya, I hate them options.

Just…just stop with the phantom ads. No more, please. Figure out how to make that not happen anymore, because my guess is that it’s not intentional–I’m giving you guys the benefit of the doubt.

Cracked.com

I think I mentioned this on my facebook a little bit back, but Cracked.com is one of my favorite humor sites out there. They have some side-splitting ‘top #’ lists.

Yep. Them, and CollegeHumor offer great original humor for the 20-something in all of us. Most of which ARE 20-something still.

Oh, hi there…I got distracted after going to the site and reading a couple of articles. Fun!

TED.com: Get Up On It

Considering the MSM doesn’t really cover good news anymore, I admonish you to check out this website TED.com. There, you’ll find [dare I say] hundreds of videos on everything from Biological to Philosophical breakthroughs in science, technology, social movements and things like that.

It’s a way to find out what news would be if it were in long format, on demand, and not about a killing, kidnapping, or political scandal. It’s part-lecture, part-product pitch, and all informative (or inspiring).

Check out TED: Ideas worth spreading. Here’s a video I saw the other day:

Kanye & The Internet

Man, the Entertainment industry never ceases to give comedic fodder to those of us that would gladly run with it. I’m admittedly late to the party (as per usual), but I’ve definitely been observing the limitless opportunities abound. In all honesty, I still have a number of strips to go until the first story arc is brought around full-circle. But I’m getting a lot of positive signs lately that I’ll have more time and effort to put towards Julius & Co., so I still intend to inject a few current events into the storyline before I get that far.

Meantime, this is my favorite Kanye Interrupt image macro:

P.S., R.I.P. Swayze
